What's new in Swift Release 24 in March?

“We are thrilled to present the latest release notes for the month of Mar 2024. In this update, we’re putting more control and customization in your hands, empowering you to effortlessly integrate data, enhance visual communication, and streamline processes across the board.”

Read on to discover the highlights of this release and unlock new possibilities for your app development journey.

API Powered Visuals for FBF

With this release, users are now able to display images and URLs in the FBF listing form. Users can easily include visuals from APIs. This solves the problem of making forms more visually engaging for effective communication.

Users can now include visuals from APIs with just a few clicks, enhancing their forms effortlessly. Plus, they have the freedom to specify column data types as “Image” or “URL,” offering greater customization.

This new feature enhances the visual presentation of data in the FBF listing form and empowers users to create more engaging and informative forms.

Descriptive TextInput Fields

With this release, users can include a description alongside the TextInput field, enriching their forms with supplementary information or instructions for the end users’ benefit.

This enhancement allows for better communication and clarity within the application, making it easier for users to understand the purpose or requirements of the TextInput field.

App Level Pop-Ups

With this release, users can enjoy a dynamic new component that displays success, error, warning, and info messages as convenient popups directly within the app. This update puts customization power in your hands, allowing you to tailor these messages to your preferences perfectly

And here’s something neat: you can now center these popups on your screen. Just head to your settings to turn it on and tweak it however you like. Add buttons, change colors, and even send users to other screens with a click!

This enhancement provides users with more control over how they receive and interact with important messages in the app, seamlessly navigating through different areas of the app without missing a beat.

Custom JSON or No-JSON FnB Creation

With this release, users can now easily create FnB (Find & Browse) items using custom JSON data or without any JSON data at all. This gives users the flexibility to define their own JSON data or create FnB items without using any JSON data whatsoever.

Overall, the “FnB to be created from custom JSON/No-JSON” feature provides users with greater control and customization options when it comes to creating FnB items.

QR Code Data Extraction

With this release, we’ve addressed a common concern about QR code data extraction. Introducing regular expressions at the QR code level allows you to define patterns and extract exactly what you need.

This enhancement ensures a more flexible and user-friendly experience with QR codes.

Streamlined Integration Processes

With this release, users can now customize variable values to fit their needs and easily pass them to desired channels or data sources. By introducing variable definitions at the integration level, users can create and fine-tune their variable values for channels or data sources, offering unparalleled flexibility and customization.

This feature enhances users’ control over variable values sent to channels or data sources, allowing tailored adjustments for specific needs, thus boosting flexibility and efficiency in data integration.

REST API Dashboard Integration

With this release, users are empowered to effortlessly craft widgets that seamlessly retrieve data from REST-based services, allowing them to highlight API statistics on their dashboards with utmost convenience.

The process of widget creation has been streamlined for simplicity. Just drag and drop the widget onto your dashboard, select a REST-based channel from the dropdown menu, and tailor it to your needs by choosing the relevant collection and execution method. Additionally, you have the flexibility to test the API response and cherry-pick the specific data you wish to showcase.

This feature empowers users to effortlessly monitor and display specific API counts in their widgets, eliminating manual data entry and enabling real-time updates of API statistics.

How Swift provides the game-changing capability?

Most low-code, no-code platforms evolved as the next-phase of the original development tools, built a decade or two ago, and still follow the same development mindset in their DNA. Although they’ve tried their best to make them easy for the business analysts and the users, majority have fallen short.

To bring about the real paradigm shift and benefits of a low-code/no-code platform, a grounds-up rethinking was required to work at a meta-data level, and incorporate at the core of the architecture, the latest and greatest advancements in web and mobile technologies, integration, security, analytics and cloud-based server frameworks.
