What's new in Swift Release 24 in April?

We are thrilled to present the latest release notes for Apr 2024. In this update, we enhanced customization options to streamline user interactions, we’ve been hard at work to bring you a suite of tools that will empower you to do more with ease.

Read on to discover the highlights of this release and unlock new possibilities for your app development journey

Multilingual App Customization

With this release, you are now able to utilize the Language Vault feature. Language Vault allows app designers to define variables in different languages for their end-user applications. This means that you can customize the language used in your applications based on the user’s preferences or location. You can assign default languages to applications and add multiple languages based on user availability.

This enhancement aims to make applications multilingual and provide a better user experience for users from different regions or language preferences.

Enhanced User Experience with Popovers

With this release, app designers and admins are now able to utilize the popover feature in the designer. Popover is a tool that enhances user experience by providing additional information or options when interacting with certain elements in the application. We have expanded the functionality of popovers to include the ability to add edit descriptions in the admin designer.

This allows admins and business analysts to easily understand the purpose and functionality of different attributes in the application.

Expanded Dashboard Features

With this release, app designers are now able to access toolbars in the entry form, dashboard, and start page. We have now merged the toolbars of the entry form and dashboard, making all attributes and components accessible in both.

For example, they can create dropdown menus for departments and display relevant data based on the selected department. Additionally, various functionalities such as tags, inputs, and number inputs are now available in the dashboard as well.

This enhancement allows app designers to design more comprehensive and functional dashboards.

Notifications on Mobile Login

With this release, you are now able to receive notifications on the login page of the mobile application. We have added the functionality to enable notifications specifically for mobile applications, including Native iOS and Android applications

This means that when you open the mobile application, you will see any announcements or notifications that have been created by the admin or business analyst. These notifications can be created by the admin designer and will be displayed on the login page of the mobile application.

The integration of notifications on the mobile application login page ensures you stay informed of important announcements and updates directly upon opening the app.

Selective Data Cell Hiding

With this release, app designers and admins are now able to selectively hide certain data values while still displaying the rest of the information. To hide a cell, go to the form, click on the gear icon, and select “Edit Fields.” From there, you can define a rule to hide the desired cell based on specific criteria.

This functionality is useful when you want to exclude certain sensitive or irrelevant data from being displayed to end users.

Date Filter in Dashboard

With this release, app designers and admins are now able to filter data based on specific dates. They can select a date and choose the format in which the data will be submitted to JD Edwards. They can choose options such as default today, the first day of the month, the last day of the month, or a custom date.

This enhancement provides you with more flexibility in filtering data and obtaining the relevant information they need.

How Swift provides the game-changing capability?

Most low-code, no-code platforms evolved as the next-phase of the original development tools, built a decade or two ago, and still follow the same development mindset in their DNA. Although they’ve tried their best to make them easy for the business analysts and the users, majority have fallen short.

To bring about the real paradigm shift and benefits of a low-code/no-code platform, a grounds-up rethinking was required to work at a meta-data level, and incorporate at the core of the architecture, the latest and greatest advancements in web and mobile technologies, integration, security, analytics and cloud-based server frameworks.
