"No-coding" innovation in to an enterprise
We know how startups are inherently innovative, thanks to their “fail fast” and “agile” philosophy.
Enterprises, on the other hand, move slower as they need to bring together a lot of moving parts to conduct experiments (projects) required for innovation.

This notion of being able to create disposable, experimental apps can be a complete game-changer on how the enterprise innovates, as this brings an unprecedented agility and free flow of actionable ideas across the enterprise.
When your users and business analysts have the power to create the apps faster than they can spec. them, it changes the whole psychology of how they approach business problems and design solutions to solve them.
This has the potential of cultivating a culture of “innovation agility” across the enterprise.
Such a culture motivates people to take ownership of their business problems and design solutions at a lightning speed, instead of procrastinating or simply living with them.
Typically that happens thanks to the sheer bureaucracy, cost, time and cumbersome development life cycles involved with initiating projects and completing them.
The ability to create “disposable” experimental processes and apps opens up the untapped potential of the enterprise to address business problems with an unprecedented agility and positive innovation energy.
Now here are some gotchas!
Most low-code, no-code platforms that promise unleashing the above innovation potential, although show some success, but don’t realize the full potential for one of the 2 key reasons:
- They are either just “prototyping” tools which can only be used to wire-frame or create fancy UI and not really connect to the real data (and hence the real problems).
- They are overly complex and essentially cloud-based IDEs targeted at experienced, professional developers re-packaged as low-code/no-code tools.
Most low-code, no-code platforms evolved as the next-phase of the original development tools, built a decade or two ago, and still follow the same development mindset in their DNA. Although they’ve tried their best to make them easy for the business analysts and the users, majority have fallen short.
To bring about the real paradigm shift and benefits of a low-code/no-code platform, a grounds-up rethinking was required to work at a meta-data level, and incorporate at the core of the architecture, the latest and greatest advancements in web and mobile technologies, integration, security, analytics and cloud-based server frameworks.
