White Rodgers – Emerson’s Comfort Controls
Emerson Technologies is the world’s leading provider in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration solutions for residential, industrial and commercial usage. It uses its technically superior products and services form various brands under its umbrella who have global engineering, design distribution and monitoring capabilities to provide an energy efficient solution to improve human comfort , preserve food along with protecting the environment. White Rodgers is Emerson’s marquee brand in thermostat, heating, refrigerating, transformers and hydronic appliance industry. They provide controls solutions to OEM manufacturers with after sales replacements dispatched through a retail network.
On The Go Needs
White Rodgers has hundreds of thousands of installations spread nationwide. A company with such a vast network of customers and clients needed a swift solution for the maintenance and repair needs of their clients. For this White Rodgers required a mobile product catalogue and support manuals in an android based solution so that it could equip its field reps to diagnose and resolve issues. They also wanted their staff to have access to a spare parts catalogue on the go so that replacements could be easily recommended and quoted to customers for their appliances right at their own doorstep.
The Ephlux Solution
Ephlux acknowledged White Rodgers’ need for a mobile platform to aid its field representatives, and got together with our local partner E-Merge, to analyze and design a robust Android app. This app was to work seamlessly with the web services framework of White Rodgers’ back end ERP systems. White Rodgers was provided an initial mockup to finalize the functional and user experience aspects of the app. Ephlux went on to develop and deploy an android app for White Rodgers that utilized standard web-service technologies in order to connect with the web-service framework. Ephlux also integrated a workflow to orchestrate a support and sales ticket business process that connected the android app with the backend BPM system via web services.
White Rodgers got an application that provides its HVACR contractors and distributors a continuous field access to product replacement information for OEM, competitive products and products offered by White Rodgers. The mobile application developed by Ephlux helped White Rodgers stay one step ahead of its customers with quick and easy after sales services to its customer base spread across the country.
